Oasis Ballots Open –Time for Students to Vote Yes for TGIF: The Green Initiative Fund

After weeks of drafting and legislating, it is finally time for UGA students to log on to Oasis and finish up the job by voting yes for The Green Initiative Fund for a greener UGA. Students will have from today, Monday March 23 through Thursday, March 26 to vote yes for Referendum 1 – TGIF, which will support an Office of Sustainability and other green efforts by the University.

TGIF is the product of efforts by SGA and UGA’s Go Green Alliance, an umbrella organization encompassing all of the environmentally-oriented groups on campus. By voting yes for the Initiative, students will be consenting to pay a $3 fee each semester, which will help the University improve its sustainability status from its current position, which is lagging amongst fellow SEC schools.

With the help of every UGA student’s vote, SGA and Go Green Alliance hope to help UGA to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. So get on Oasis and vote yes for TGIF!
